Plaça Sant Jaume
Plaça de Sant Jaume is the administrative and historic center of Barcelona since antiquity. Saint James’s Squar (in English) houses the most important legislative buildings in Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia: The City Hall and the Palace of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
An important meeting point
Plaça Sant Jaume has witnessed numerous historic events throughout its existence and nowadays, the plaza houses several concerts, exhibitions and protests. It is also where FC Barcelona fans celebrate the team’s victories.
The surroundings of Plaça Sant Jaume are packed with interesting things to see and charming narrow and winding alleyways to explore. One of the best streets in our opinion is the Carrer del Bisbe that connects Plaça Sant Jaume with the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia.
